Acoustic Duo Spanish Tour Dates and Details

New Album

The next Dropkick album has been recorded and mixed and is currently being mastered by our old guitarist, Alastair Taylor. All being well, we are hoping to release this in early 2018 – more details to follow.

Andrew’s Solo Album

Andrew released his first solo album, From the Outside Looking In, with Rock Indiana Records in June. The album received some good reviews and radio airplay including BBC Radio Scotland and Radio 3 Spain. You can read a recent review from The Herald newspaper here.

The CD version of the album is now sold out at our shop, however, you can still stream or download this at the usual sites. Alternatively, you can buy the CD directly from Rock Indiana in Spain or Kool Kat Musik in the USA.

Check out Andrew’s song ‘Won’t You Talk to Me’.

There is currently a 30% off sale at our online shop on all Vinyl, CDs, downloads and T-shirts. Just use the code ‘welcomeal’ at the checkout to redeem.

Finally, thanks very much for your ongoing support. We’re looking forward to getting out to play some tunes again soon and to releasing our new music in early 2018. Cheers!

Our first gigs since last year are fast approaching – here are the upcoming dates. We hope to see some of you soon!

Line-up Change

A few months ago, Scott signalled his intention to take a break from playing music so, very sadly, has left Dropkick for the 2nd time in his career! Scott first joined us in 2008 for a couple of years before re-joining in 2013. Over the years we’ve had some amazing experiences with him and wish Scott all the very best for his musical retirement and say thanks for the huge contribution he has made to our music.

Thankfully, we have found a very willing and capable replacement in our old musical chum, Al Shields. A wonderful singer / songwriter in his own right, Al is also a very talented bassist and has been working with us during the last couple of months at Dropkick HQ, recording and rehearsing.

Here is a recent clip from Dropkick HQ of us rehearsing a couple of tunes.

New Album and Gigs

We’re delighted to let you know that we’ve now finished recording the new Dropkick record at our HQ in Edinburgh and will soon be mixing and mastering it. The currently untitled, 10 track album will hopefully be released in early 2018. Once again, we’re thankful to be working with acclaimed Edinburgh-based artist and designer, Alan Lennon on the album design. More news soon!

We’ll be trying out some of the new material along with ‘classic’ Dropkick tracks at a couple of upcoming gigs. If you are nearby, please come along!

Andrew Taylor Solo Album

On 10th June, Dropkick songwriter, frontman and producer, Andrew Taylor, released his first solo album via Rock Indiana Records. The album, ‘From the Outside Looking In’, features 10 new songs written, recorded and performed by Andrew at the band’s rehearsal studio last year. The album is available to be streamed or downloaded via Amazon, itunes, Google play, Spotify, Apple music and other online retailers and as a CD from Dropkick’s online shop.

You can also watch a video for the first track on the album, ‘Won’t You Talk To Me’, here.

Andrew is hoping to announce a few Spanish solo gigs soon and will also be appearing at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, to play a short acoustic set on the Potting Shed Stage, Sat 5th August.

Turning Circles 10th Anniversary

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of our album ‘Turning Circles’, Andrew and ex-dropkicker Alastair Taylor got together at Dropkick HQ on 27th April to revisit some of the songs in a live acoustic session. As well as 9 of the album tracks, the tune ‘Killing Time’ was also re-recorded, which was originally on the bonus cd, included with only the first 50 cd copies of Turning Circles.

You can download the session FREE at our online shop. You can also watch the acoustic session here.

While the original ‘Turning Circles’ CD has long been sold out, you can still download it at the usual sites and via our shop.

Radio Session

Andrew, Mike and Scott will be returning to play a stripped back session on our local radio station, East Coast FM. We’ll be playing some songs from ‘Balance the Light’ and maybe something older and chatting about the record and upcoming gigs on the The Sessions show. Tune in locally in the East Lothian / Edinburgh area of Scotland on 107.6 FM or digitally on Thursday 29th September from 8pm GMT to hear us.
